The 2016 Summer Concert Series @ Downtown Ithaca

The CFCU Summer Concert Series is a free outdoor concert series open to the public held every Thursday evening thru the summer. Local and national acts acts perform music in genres including jazz, blues, reggae, folk, hip hop, country, bluegrass, rock, and more! Enjoy a beer and wine garden open for the duration of each concert.

The 2016 Summer Concert Series presented by CFCU Community Credit Union kicks off on the Bernie Milton Pavilion stage in the Ithaca Commons on Thursday, June 23! The Summer Concert Series is a free outdoor concert series open to the public held every Thursday evening from June 23 - September 15 (with the exception of Grassroots week- the show will be on Wednesday, July 20 not Thursday). Local and national acts acts perform music in genres including jazz, blues, reggae, folk, hip hop, country, bluegrass, rock, and more!

Enjoy a beer and wine garden open for the duration of each concert. Seating is not provided but participants are encouraged to bring a chair and stay a while! The Downtown Ithaca Summer Concert Series has become a weekly summer tradition in the local community; Ithacans and tourists alike enjoy stumbling upon a vibrant downtown on a weekday evening. See you at the State!

Attendees can park in the Green or Seneca Street garages and walk to the Series. Parking is free in the garages after 8:00PM and free at street meters after 6:00PM. Both garages are equipped with accessible parking and elevators/ Please contact the DIA office if you need special accommodation.

The Summer Concert Series will take place on the Bernie Milton Pavilion stage. This series is FREE to the public.

The schedule and details for this year's series will be announced on the first week of June.

9/1/2016-The Purple Valley: is a six piece band that plays dancing blues, swing, and rock and roll. The band features vocal harmonies and interpretations of many different musical genres.

9/8/2016-Cielle & All Sounds On: is blue indie folk featuring exquisite 3 part female vocal harmonies. Cielle (CL) fronts the band, sharing her original vocal stories, at once unique and universal, of love, transition and all life has to offer us.

9/15/2016-The Low Dynamics: plays original swinging jazz music. The band features guitar, clarinet and bass.

9/22/2016-Radio London: captures the spirit of Sixties AM radio with danceable classics from bands ranging from Animals to the Zombies, plus Motown and Surf sounds and more.

9/29/2016-Greg McQuade: An accomplished singer and pianist Greg has musical backgrounds in jazz, rock, classical and pop. His blend of musical style and command of the written word entices the listener to desire more.

10/6/2016-Six Mile Creek Band

10/13/2016-The Immortal Jellyfish: are a group that perform an eclectic variety of great songs from the 1950’s to present. Fronted by vocalist Kat Patton, and supported by Mike Vitucci, Ken Zerserson and Jeff Sacco- they play jazz standards, country, Americana, rock and roll and the blues.

10/20/2016-Bittersweet: plays an eclectic mix of songs from country, folk, old-time, blues, and rock, a genre more recently known as Americana. Their focus is finding that (bitter) sweet spot where melody, harmony, guitar, and dobro meet.

10/27/2016-Grey Wolf Jam: delivers favorite songs from the early R&B, Country, and Blues genres. Integrating deeply soulful ballads with resonant rock rhythms, they perform enduring cross-cultural hits with powerful energy and enthusiasm.
